Star magazine was a teen/groupie magazine started in the early 1970′s. There were only five copies actually published! Supposedly there was an influx of complaints from the public regarding the content. The pictures are uber cool and full of mad style… big hair, lots of denim shorts, platforms, long eyelashed and major foxes galore. One of the first feature stories was tiled, “Your Very Own Superfox:How You’ll Know It’s Him”.

Excerpt from the article: ”SUPERFOX is no dream, Sugar! SUPERFOX is that groovy dude who is the perfect match for your far-out personal style. He is your Main Squeezzzzzze! This is the man who will put a little more glide in your stride, and let you fall out to a happening in your sizzle pants with a few extra dips in your hips. Know where I’m coming from? There really is nothing better than a good one-piece suit. I’ve been obsessed with this one for so long, and I finally picked one up while in Cali at our Volcom warehouse. It’s got the best cut-outs and hugs in all the right places. I want to ride waves in this baby, or just lay out by the pool and just dangle my feet over the lounge chair. It fits so well I could literally hop in the ocean and not worry that the waves will rip my swimsuit right off hehe! Here, I’m snapped at my house in LA…munching on fresh pineapple and using my tie-dye kimono as a sun shade. What I loved about my time at home was how hot it was. There were afternons when all that was needed was the bikini, oversize sunglasses, and a big bottle of sunscreen. I can’t wait for memorial Day Weekend, when I’m back on the beach! I guess I’ll be here in New York though, soaking in as much rays as I can. I’m just dying for that sunshine, and some Vitamin D.

Women’s Dotted Line One Piece

I had the pleasure of collaborating with one of my favorite metal bands, Volcom’s own Valient Thorr, on a project for my blog, Miss Austin. Lead singer, Valient Himself, lent his creative hand on some portraits of yours truly. I am a big fan of his work – his style is bold, entertaining, and uniquely Himself. He pretty much nailed what I wanted by bringing the meat, booze and the don’t-fucking-touch-my-meat-or-you’re-getting-shot attitude. Check it:

Valient  Thorr is bringing their new album, Our Own Masters, to Austin this summer with Gypsyhawk and Ramming Speed. Are they playing in your city? I bet they are! Check their schedule, and get up on it.  You’ll get sweaty, get a little tipsy and probably make 10 new friends. One of them more than likely will be Valient Himself.

Its been a great Summer here in Sydney and I’m sad to see it go, especially early morning swims and sunbakes. I got to see some amazing live music like Jagwar Ma where Mel and I danced like cray and Beach House, whom were so good they gave me heart palpitations.

I find there’s more house parties and gatherings happening in Summer, especially around Bondi. I didnt really “go out” at all coz its a sweat fest in the city, and hanging outside at your mates house is way more appealing then a hot box club. However, I did go to the Rolling Stones event with Celeste (The Cowboy Geisha) where we had a lot of fun drinking tequila and getting rowdy…

We were always different. I hated school and tried every trick to get out of it. Bekah cried when mum told her she couldn’t go to boarding school at 8 years old. I went to ballet and Bekah joined the TA. I gave in to every peer pressure as early as I possibly could and Bekah didn’t try anything ’til her 21st!

Bekah’s been more of a mum or dad to me than either of them ever has. If I’m stuck in another country and have lost my passport or been kidnapped, or someone just asked who’s my next of kin at the hospital, I think Bekah. That’s not because mum or dad don’t care about me or wouldn’t help, it’s just because they’re not as organised and clever as Bekah, and they won’t mind me saying that, because they’ll agree.

So far in my life I didn’t pass my 11 plus, which got me into Ellington High School for girls. This again got me into fights, maybe over boys twice my age, whilst smoking and drinking way too much, loosing my front teeth at 14, just passing my GCSE’s with 2 C’s in double award science, in total I got 2 C’s 3 D’s and an E, dropping out of 6 college courses in one year and then moving to London to essentially, looking back on it, doss about for 7 years.

Bekah, passed her 11 plus, got into Clarendon Grammer School for Girls, passed her A levels, graduated at university and before any of that, saved enough money to redesign her bedroom so stylishly that you wouldn’t think you even were in my mums house anymore. She saved up and paid for driving lessons passed her test and bought herself a car at 17 from just working some part time waitressing job. She walked to Morocco for some charity thing. Has done voluntary work at animal sanctuaries all over Asia, and been to almost every country. She’s worked at Zoo’s all over this country and is currently a nurse at Battersea Cats and Dogs home, and was even on TV the other day from it.

Boys never faze her, drinking and drugs are just whatever, she parties as hard regardless, she’s definitely tougherthan me and is probably the prettiest thing I have ever seen…

This past fall I went to Europe to skate on the Nitro Circus Live tour. This was by far the gnarliest tour we had done! We did 13 shows in about 2.5 weeks. We were basically in a different city and or country every day. There were times when we would have 4 shows in a row before a day off. Then the days we did have off were packed with fun awesome activities, it was quite the world wind to say the least!

Anyway they filmed us the whole time and turned it into a TV show. Tune into MTV2 Tuesday nights at 11/10c to see a behind the scenes look at all the shenanigans that went down on tour!
