I’m sure we have all seen a PSA whether its about abused pets, I know everyone has seen the puppy PSA with the sad Sarah Mclachlan song and cried, or a PSA about children up for adoption but as of the past year or so PSA’s have changed. We all probably saw or heard of the Kony 2012 viral video that was brilliantly marketed but took a turn for the worst when the film maker went a little crazy, but none the less it was a well crafted way to get the word out about a great cause. What I am getting at is that the standard PSA seems to be a thing of the past and organizations are now moving into a new era of PSA marketing. The latest of the new era of the PSA is brought to you by ONE.org, who were at the forefront of this new era with their (RED) campaign but this time they have made a brilliantly funny mock PSA featuring some of today’s funniest people.

As prom season is coming to an end I figured I should post some pictures from my senior prom. My best friend and I decide to go together because no one asked us and it would be a great opportunity to do some awkward family photo styled prom pictures. The theme of our prom was Moulin Rouge (we made a promo video that I helped direct) so mostly everyone, at least in my friend group, ended up wearing black. Most of my friends had a stressful time finding a dress to wear but I have quite the opposite experience. My dads girlfriend walked into my room with a vintage Louis Vuitton dress that I couldn’t say no to! It was that easy. Then all I needed to do was find shoes so I went to Wasteland and got these Jeffrey Campbell’s, even though the strap broke and I had to super glue them they were the perfect shoes. Over all prom itself wasn’t that great but everything else about it was fantastic.

In mid-August I will be moving to Washington DC to attend American University. There are many things I will miss about LA and a lot of things I won’t miss.

I’m sure you can tell by my many other blog posts about food that I truly do love food so one of the things I will miss most about LA is good Mexican food. Being a California girl I have grown up with access to the best Mexican food outside of Mexico its self. Now when I say that I don’t mean that we have a Poquito Mas every couple of blocks, even though I do like Poquito Mas. I’m talking about the small family owned Oaxacan and southern Mexican restaurants. Over the past year I have tried to find the perfect Mexican restaurant so that when I come back to LA to visit I can get the best of the best. I went to a number of different places and ordered my favorite thing at each, which is anything with Molé sauce on it. I have narrowed it down to two favorites the first being EK Valley (6121 Washington Blvd. Culver City, CA 90232) the second is Guelaguetza (3014 W. Olympic Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90006).

Guelaguetza also has a store inside the restaurant where you can buy jars of their Molé and Mexican hot chocolate…. So good. Between these two I will for sure have a place to go get good Mexican food when I come back to visit and I highly recommend them both if you are a foodie like me or just want good Mexican food.
