Last week my boyfriend and I went to see The Lumineers play at The Fonda Theater in Los Angeles.
We had school all day which put a huge damper on the getting ready part, on any typical day I just throw on some ripped up denim shorts and white t-shirt and my litte brown boots, but when it comes to events.. I really enjoy the getting ready process, like most girls:)
There are a few main things I think of when trying to get dressed for a concert.. I can’t just “push through the pain”.. or “squeeze it in all night long” .. I have some basic criteria that has helped me through a lot of long nights. I will admit, feeling/looking cute is at the top of my list!
BUT… Being comfortable (physically & mentally) is right up there with the cute factor! For instance, a concert can be long, and dancing is usually happening if I have any say.. so for that reason alone comfort head to toe is key.
By being mentally comfortable all I really mean is feeling like I am dressed 100% like me. I used to partake in the “up for grabs wardrobe” when I shared an apartment with 5 girls, but thankfully those days have passed .. at this point I have learned how to dress according to my shape, my style and my comfort. Everything I own is pretty much thrifted (which makes me feel like they are one of kind. hah) I love finding pieces that I can alter, hem, cut, rip & fit just as I want them too. I’ve had so many mess ups with this as well so the fact that they were extremely inexpensive makes it less stressful and just fun!
With that said I still love to look through my favorite style blogs or browse randomly to get inspired… please tell me I’m not the only girl out there that does this..????
Anyways after rushing home from a long day at school and trying to beat the LA traffic I had to move fast. After failing at finding any inspiration…I just threw on my go to long black skirt, loose white top and some comfortable, yet tall wedges and out the door we ran! After all an outfit really is just an outfit.. in the end it can never be taken too seriously.
On the drive from LA from Newport I decided I would get insight from other concert go-ers on what they think makes a great concert outfit.

Overall I think people have a similar mindset when getting ready for a concert:
Be comfortable.
Look adorable.
Feel like yourself while being influenced a bit by the band you are seeing.
& Make sure you can bust a move in your shoes….
The Lumineers put on the most fantastic show. At the start of the night the lead singer Wesley asked everyone to put their phones away and asked that we kept them away through out the show. He followed it with “lets all just be here together”
As much as I wanted to take photos (especially because I had a front row middle view) I couldn’t argue with his sweet request.
We danced, we sang, we enjoyed.. it was a magical night.
