Maud Le Car, Europe’s first addition to their girls surf team starting January 2012, has since then showed fierceness, strong ambition and above all insane surfing topped of with a humble and grateful attitude that makes everyone fall in love with her. With an eventful year including features in Stab mag and surf interviews around the globe, Maud has managed to keep her focus and playful attitude and is continuing to rip through the headlines of the ASP European Junior Tour, which is soon coming to an end. In between contests, surfing and having fun being young – she channels her focus through art, which is just as big a part of her as surfing is. Her whole package has made us utterly proud of having her part of our family, welcome home girl.
Hi! I’m Maud. Putting it short, I currently live in France, that is half of the year when not traveling or in contest, but I come from the French Caribbean. I was just lucky to go back there for a week so today I wanted to share these photos with you, let you discover my kind of paradise… I hope you will enjoy!
A bit of history first: I was born and grew up in Saint Martin; a very little island of 93 km2 separated between two states – the French side in the North and the Dutch in the south. Various languages are spoken on our island, English being the main language but also Creoles and French. As you might guess, I’m part of the French speaking society.
When the contest season is finished, I love spending time “off” – going back home to Saint Martin; the perfect place for me to relax and recharge. Spending time with my family, surfing the old home spots in reaaally warm waters, painting with my mother and going out by boat to wakeboard. All things I can’t do when I am traveling or in contests.
