Swim Season

I’ve been on a bathing suit buying kick lately. But there are so many cute options this summer that I can’t really help myself. I bought this gem from Volcom a couple weeks ago!

In the past I have cut corners and bought cheaply made bathing suits (I’m looking at you American Apparel) so this year I decided to invest. Here are some trends that I’m pretty in love with.

The Vintage Look – Lets face it, a little high waisted never hurt anyone. Just don’t buy too small. These can cinch in places that shouldn’t be cinched. I would love to hide a night of lonestars under this little gem.

Fringes – I think this is super flattering. The angle on the fringe is slimming and neon looks good on most skin types. And I love the 70s so FRINGE FOR LIFE.

The bustier top – Mara Hoffman has a great collection of these. Unfortunately, they’re about a million dollars. But a girl can dream.

The One Piece – 2012 is the return of the one piece. Who says you have to show off that midriff every time you feel like a swim.

Tribal print – In general, tribal/native peoples print is pretty popular right now but I happen to like it the most when applied to swim suits.

Happy shopping! And for your weekly playlist…
