Moments with Kari

Kari Opsal Maeland is our Norwegian addition to the European Girls Snowboard team.
You might be thinking, Norwegians… those big, rowdy, wide shouldered Vikings with reddish blond hair and a big beard..? No, only one of those apply to Kari. The hair color that is. What she does have is the bubbly and warm, open-hearted personality you usually find in Norway. Luckily for us she’s also a great snowboarder with a very solid style. She hasn’t however had the best of luck lately, spending three consecutive seasons injured… But why wallow in past – now she’s getting back on track and we couldn’t be more excited seeing her riding. She loves life and taking pictures of it so she’s decided to share some with you!

This spring has been full of so many different things. Some I could predict – and some I didn’t see coming at all. I often end up with the best memories from the things I didn’t see coming. Then I dive in with no expectations. I take a lot of pictures with my phone on the way, and it all ends up like a photo diary.
Here is a recap of my favorite instagram moments from the last months.

My 21st birthday gift was a trip to Paris with my mum. After a long day walking around town, drinking café au lait and eating croissants, we ended up by Louvre right when the sun was going down. The light was amazing.

My brother and I actually made this sushi plate! I am so proud! We spent a FEW.. hours on it though.

This is a photo from 17th of May, Norway’s national day. We are all wearing our national costumes. Erin (Comstock) visited from the US and didn’t have a national costume so she borrowed my Volcom sweat pants!

I never thought I would be able to go to Coachella, it has always seemed pretty far off my road. But somehow I ended up there this year, and we had an amazing time camping, going to concerts and laughing A LOT!

My friends and I were biking around in Carlsbad, CA. The sky was like an aquarelle painting topped off with crabs for dinner by the harbor.

This is from a night out in Oslo. The picture itself is not that good, but it was a funny situation. I’m glad I’m the one chugging beer with my clothes on in front…
