Miss Austin // Power Dames

I love rock and roll. I love loud rock and roll. I love badass ladies who sing in great rock and roll bands. Loud ladies – yes! There are a handful of women who kick so much ass, when they come through Austin they should hire extra security because I am going to try my damndest to tongue them. Yeah, dudes who kill it on stage are hot and all, but man, when a lady shows that rawness it makes me tingly inside. You know, it’s the nice warm tingle that makes that voice in my head fade. The one that says, “Don’t do it.” Fuck that, yes, do it!

Ok, erase the 10,000 Maniacs version from your head first. Patti Smith is kind of a big deal in my mind. I was just speaking with my gal, Lauren, last night about the awesomeness that is Patti Smith. She is such a thoughtful performer and writer, it’s hard to not be inspired. If you haven’t read her book, Just Kids, do it now. Seriously. You will be inspired to be fearless, create art, and channel your energy into something worthwhile. It’s pretty major.

These damn Wilson sisters. I think all of my girlfriends have wanted to be Ann or Nancy Wilson at some point growing up, especially if you have a sister. Getting dolled up and blaring this song is something I am familiar with. It’s hard for me to sit still. Turn it up!

Seeing Maja Ivarsson live will pretty much make you reconsider dating dudes. Seriously.

I mentioned over on Miss Austin how much I’m in to The Kills and Alison Mosshart. Play this song, and we’re making out in 10 seconds flat.

The Raveonettes make me feel dreamy and drunk. Sune is such a hot power bitch, isn’t she kind of mesmerizing?

I know these are only a few within a big sea of hot lady fish. There are so many others I want to mention but I will leave that for another day of lady inspiration.

Kisses and kittens,

Miss Austin
