On Repeat

Just wanted to share with you guys what I’ve been listening to on repeat the most lately. A little bit of something new and a little bit of the classics. My taste in music is very widespread, and I always like to give something a chance. Hey, I spent Sunday night watching old Britney Spears music videos with my friends like it was nobody’s business. Don’t judge.

Here, take a listen:

I do proclaim myself as the number one Michael Jackson fan. I’ve been listening and singing to his music, as well as copying his dance moves, since I could talk and walk. And Dirty Diana is one of my favorite songs of his, because it is pure Michael Jackson, but also so very rock and roll. When I say I proclaim my love for the great MJ, I mean it. So when I first heard The Weeknd’s version of Dirty Diana . . . I nearly died from happiness. The king is reborn again. Call me Dirty Dylana from now on, please.

This song reminds me of summer, and being you and in love. Can’t get any better than that, right??

My friend Cheryl reintroduced me to the music of the talented Mark Ronson one wild weekend in Philly. We played him non-stop. I think we literally had this song on repeat about 100 times. It was crazy, but it just never got old. I just can’t help but listen over and over again. The lyrics and beat are too addicting.

Jimi Hendrix is totally my main man when it comes to classic rock. He’s so smooth, so raw, just so freaking cool. I want his style and I want his swagger and I want to hear him play guitar all day long. This is definitely my favorite Jimi song. This man can do no wrong.

I got my Dad the Doors Greatest Hit album for Christmas, so we went into Doors overdrive the entire week I was in California for holidays. My Dad said this is the perfect song for me, you know, being an LA woman myself. I just laugh, but I do adore anything by the Doors. Makes for the perfect soundtrack for waiting in LA traffic, for sure. My love for Jim Morrison will be forever.

The beat is unbelievably beautiful and the aggressive undertones from the lyrics are super intense. Sounds pretty close to what it feels like to be screwed over by someone you love. Experienced one too many of those feelings in my life already. But hey, that’s just love.
